To write this letter to you is really painful for me. Firstly I have to confess that I have been a really bad person… I was unfair to you and whatever happened between us was because of my decisions and my stupidity.

I was always a very careful, cautious and ‘will think 10 times before doing anything ‘ kinda boy…. I naver took much risks, hesitated in mixing with people and was ignorant of all those beautiful things that pass you everyday,.. never did I notice the gap that existed in my life…

And then you came along. I knew you were too good for me the first time I saw you. I tried to like you, but I honestly didn’t.  I was sure I had made a huge mistake bringing you into my life….kind of an inferiority complex…  I had been through so much and waited so long to get you, it made me feel guilty. I tried to buy you pretty accessories to keep you happy, but the truth was, I was afraid of you..   I knew you could move a lot faster and farther than my I was willing to.   But you stuck with me through it all.

We have been together everyday for the last  3 years and we will be celebrating our anniversary this December… If I couldn’t be with You for even 1 day I really missed you… n Still I decided to leave you….

Believe me its not easy.. n it was not purposely… I tried to find a proper reason to tell you… things like “sometimes u have to move on” … “people go away for studies” …”its jus a matter of 2 years”… etc etc…

I remember the days we spent together, those night rides , those angry drives..the fun we had during the rains… fun with friends… awesome college days… movies on Tuesdays… dates on weekends…. Well u wer with me during all these unforgettable moments….

N I am not ashamed to say… That I MISSED YOU FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY I REACHED SINGAPORE….

They say that you realize the importance of a person/thing only when u are away…. Ya… true…

Now I had a new life… new city… with lot of new beauties around…  Its always tempting to get your hands on a new one… specially beauties with gleaming faces n bodies… I should tell you at this point that some of them looookkk waayy aweesomeee !!!……. but I still know that I was U n U was me.. I=U n U=ME…

Today I come to pune… see you first and I have a sense of fear in my mind…. How will you act… how was this 2 months time for you?… will u still want to be with me, also knowing that I’ll be away in jus 10 days….

But as I had rightfully thought… Your heart is big… n I was really in tears when I heard the sound you made when u saw me… when I first turned the ignition and pressed the start button… oh my god…. You ROARED !!!!!  YOU JUS ROARED…

My KARIZMA….. Perfect name……. your 220cc heart is big enough for me to fit inside..

I kept staring at you… your beautiful with feminine sexiness but you are also muscular and give a feeling of hidden power..

I am Still amazed …

HOW TO POUR BEER !!!!!!!!!!!  ..

This is one of the most important part of enjoying beer…..

• Use a clean glass. A dirty glass, containing oils, dirt or residuals from a previous beer, may inhibit head creation and flavours.
• Hold your glass at a 45° angle. Pour the beer, targeting the middle of the slope of the glass. Don’t be afraid to pour hard or add some air between the bottle and glass.
• At the half-way point bring the glass at a 90° angle and continue to pour in the middle of the glass. This will induce the perfect foam head. And remember, having a head on a beer is a good thing. It releases the beer’s aromatics and adds to the overall presentation. You may also want to gradually add distance between the bottle and glass as you pour, to also inspire a good head. An ideal head should be 1″ to 1-1/2″.

Now you dont jus gulp down the liquid…. !!!  REMEMBER THE IDEA HERE IS NOT TO GET HIGH N PASS OUT !!!!!!!! …..hahahhaha!!!!!  …..enjoy the beer !!!!

LOOK

AGITATE
Swirl your beer, gently in the glass. This will pull out aromas, slight nuances, loosen & stimulate carbonation and test head retention.

SMELL
90-95% of what you experience is through you sense of smell. Breathe thru your nose with two quick sniffs, then with your mouth open, then thru your mouth only (nose and mouth are connected in the experience). Let olfaction guide you. Agitate again if need be, and ensure that you are in an area that has no overpowering aromas. Enjoy its bouquet.

TASTE
Now sip the beer. Resist swallowing immediately. Let it wander and explore your entire palate. Let your taste buds speak. Note the mouthfeel, the consistency of the liquid’s body, and breathe out during the process of tasting. This process of exhaling is called “retro-olfaction” and will release retained stimulations at the mucus and mouthfeel level, but at a higher temperature. But here it is the supreme power, one that beckons without calling, dictates without telling, listens without letting us know that it hears. When you look at the edicts that they prepared for us – the Ramayan, the Geeta, the Bible, the Quran, the Granth Saheb Ji, you wonder at these feats of godliness. How did they put down in writing thought and word all that these respected and revered religious books contain.

The human would have been bereft of belief if it had not existed. Was this the way of the gods to instill belief in us ? Would we have been a different race if there was no belief in our existence ?

Religion is most commonly used to cover up lot of bad qualities and God is used to cover up lotta bad doings….

To say that God will do everything and you jus have to wait for him to do everything is cowardice , laziness or stupid blindness….

I wonder what i would be thinking about the same topic in the next 10 years…. because religion is something that is related to the influence of people around you, like your parents, family, wife, siblings etc….

I am a Hindu by religion and Brahmin by caste…  I believe in 1 single god which i think is an energy in this universe which makes things happen which are not regular happenings… I somewhat believe in miracle and i owe my existence to such a miracle…. This energy brings about these miracles ….

You inherit your religion jus like your nose or eyes… if u like it or not is not your choice… but what you wanna do about it for the rest of your life is your choice

but as you grow up, ur belief and involvement in RELIGION as a whole changes drastically…

I do not believe in the immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern without any superhuman authority behind it….. So i dont belive in an BABAs, or MAHARAJS etc etc…… i cannot accept any person to be a representation of god….

Maybe m wrong or maybe i dont have that ‘experience’ in life…or maybe m just stupid …

Was feeling a little wierd about it yesterday but got a surprise at midnight… !!!

Ya it was a surprise for me because its the first time anybody has come n wished me at midnight…

unfortunately i ruined the surprise for them because i was standing outside my house at midnight talking on my cell with some friends…. hahaha… sorry about that…

The Cake was awesome n we 5 people finished it off …. yummm….

Dad was flying in specially to be here but had to give him a ‘cut’ as i had a beautiful evening at Sheesha…thanks to Angad,(the regular) we got a corner for ourselves… Beer n Lasagna n Jazz…..!!!

I had decided quite firmly last year that i wudnt celebrate my birthday again…. sometimes you decide to abandon some things u enjoy doing because of certain incidences which spoil the whole ‘specialness’ of the occassion……

Some blues… some regrets…some expectations…..some hurt…some tears… some hugs….. but compensated totally by some surprises… 2 beautiful Bday cards, ample amount of friends , music and BEER !!!!

Mitali wasnt there for the last 2 years… nice to have her back after 2 years…

well as far as the bday presents are in question….NONE…  was hoping to get the DSLR camera pan dad is too busy! no issues… i’ll get it sooner or later… now should start studying… internals approaching fast…

I get up and feel like writing….its been quite sometime and lotta posts are still lying in Drafts….

The ghosts from my past still haunt me and i guess will do so forever… Trust is one thing which once broken cannot be fixed ,come what may,…..

Lotta joy, celebration, meeting new people, gaints in their field, celebrities, Economic forum,ganpati, diwali, parties !…. this year has been fun !!!  wel atleast u can say so…

But somehow it dosent feel complete….

When the hair tingles upon the arms and wrists. When words fail to form. Then can we safely say that we have been overtaken by emotion.

Failure, negativity, obtuse comment, wrongful accusation, suffering physicality, mental and real, anger and distress, frustration and anxiety and all possible manifestations of disruption and dislike, all pale in this uncontrollable feel of emotion.

US President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world “hope for a better future” with his work for peace and calls to reduce the global stockpile of nuclear weapons.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” The first African-American to hold his country’s highest office, Obama has called for disarmament and worked to restart the stalled Middle East peace process since taking office in January.

“Very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said in a citation.

The Nobel Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize

Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, shared the first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901 with Frédéric Passy, a leading international pacifist of the time. In addition to humanitarian efforts and peace movements, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded for work in a wide range of fields including advocacy of human rights, mediation of international conflicts, and arms control.

The collapse has us asking ourselves what principles of financial
intelligence we can learn from Lehman’s failure. The financial
crisis that engulfed Wall Street and the economy in general,
after all, provides a good backdrop for some important lessons.

1. Too much (Spread?) leverage

The basic concept of financial leverage is
taking the proceeds of a loan and investing that money to receive
a higher rate of return. The difference in the rates (the interest
rate of the loan and interest rate earned on the investment)
is called the spread.

Businesses, such as banks, borrow money from others through
deposits or loans and pay a fixed interest rate on the debt.
Then they take that borrowed money and invest it, expecting,
of course, to get a higher return. At a traditional bank, deposits
are paid 1-2 percent interest rates and the money is then loaned
out at 5-20 percent interest rates. It’s easy to see how commercial
banks make money — they will be profitable as long as
there is a nice spread.

Lehman Brothers was overleveraged. They borrowed money in order
to invest in mortgage-backed securities (MBS) (as well as a
variety of other investments). In the case of the MBSs, when
it was revealed that the assets used as collateral for those
mortgage-backed securities were worth a lot less than they thought,
the MBSs became worthless and Lehman Brothers’ spread
went from positive to negative. In balance sheet terms, they
started with a balance sheet in which they owned more than they
owed. They ended up with a balance sheet in which they owed
more than they owned. That’s never good, and Lehman Brothers
went bankrupt.

2. Risky debt-to-equity ratios

Debt-to-equity ratios tell you how much debt a company has for
every dollar of equity. The calculation is easy: divide total
liabilities by shareholders’ equity (both found on the balance
sheet). In the case of commercial banks, the FDIC likes to see
a debt-to-equity ratio of about 10 to 1, meaning for every dollar
of equity, the bank has $10 of debt. With that level of debt
to equity, a bank can weather the storm of a loss due to bad
loans or a shrinking interest spread.

Investment banks, however, are not regulated by the FDIC. Their
debt-to-equity ratios tend to be much higher. Lehman Brothers,
for example, had, at various times, debt-to-equity ratios of
30-60 to 1. If a firm is running at $60 of debt for every $1
of equity, their cushion is dangerously small. Any drop in the
value of the assets underlying their investments, or in their
spread, pushes the firm to bankruptcy. This was the case for
Lehman.

3. Upside-only compensation schemes

Another factor that spelled disaster for Lehman Brothers was
the bonus system that compensated people for generating stellar
returns. In general, the investment banks set up plans that
paid a bonus when the firm performs well. But when the firm
did poorly, employees weren’t asked to give any money back.
The plan rewarded risk taking for high returns but did not punish
for low returns or losses. There was no personal downside to
taking risk.

Learning from The Past

Widespread recessions are not new, of course. The last 30 years
have witnessed at least four recessions, one of which, in the
early 1980s, was as severe as the current downturn. And as powerful
as the events of the past twelve months have been, they are
not the first time that we have confronted mind-boggling, high-stakes
change. The end of the Civil War, the onset of the Great Depression,
the close of World War II — in each of these moments,
a great crisis presented not only big challenges, but also opportunities
to make the existing system better, economically, politically,
and morally. And individual men and women did just that, coming
forward with courageous, innovative solutions. That
opportunity exists today for our leadership.

Because as it stands now, there is no shortage of people and
institutions to look to in trying to understand what caused
this crisis: banking executives, ratings agencies, mortgage
brokers, boards of directors, and government officials —
including those in power who unraveled longstanding regulations
that had served to stabilize the financial capitalism. In the
years to come, as they look to explain the events of 2008, historians
will look to a singular failure of leadership on the part of
a range of actors who, over and over again, abdicated their
fiduciary responsibility.

the above wisdom has helped me to understand a key point and then helped me to take a “CHANGED stand” about some significant people in my life, and it proved out to be effective solution. Apart from this, it helped me in general to decide from whom to stay away, to whom to teach, to whom to wake up and to whom to make my teacher.

Was former president APJ Abdul Kalam frisked by an American airline because his name implied a particular religious identity or is India particularly generous to foreign dignitaries without other countries returning the favour?

Now it has been well over 2 months since the incident took place….. Is our government so weak that it cannot even take action against such a grave issue…??

When i heard abt the incident my first reaction was that of outrage !… 60  yrs have gone since we have been independant !… bloody 60 years !!!! Are we still slaves to the Capitalistic powers …. can they dominate a Soverign India.

According to the US law, “EVERY PERSON ” who is boarding a direct flight which will land on US soil is to be strictly checked …

I dont care  ! As a common man, a citizen of India, I simply dont care what rules are laid down by the US government…..

what i know is that my President was boarding a flight on Indian soil, and as a part of the Protocol signed by 72 countries he is not allowed to be checked ! NOT ALLOWED !

IGI- airport is indian soil… n it deeply hurts me to say that why should america law overrule Indian law on my country’s soil !

Kalam was reportedly forced to wait on the aerobridge even as the airlines security personnel debated whether to put him under the security scanner or not. Kalam was asked to surrender before the security officials for a complete body check and remove his footwear as well.

Civil aviation minister Praful Patel said he would be speaking to his external affairs counterpart SM Krishna to modify protocol rules. “Protocol rules are drawn after consulting the external affairs ministry. I will refer the matter to him,” he said.

The statement was made after MPs demanded action against those guilty of asking Kalam to remove his footwear during the check, calling it an “unpardonable” act. The incident took place on April 24 when Kalam was about to board a flight to Newark, New Jersey.

As he proceeded toward boarding the aircraft, Continental Airlines staff frisked him in contravention of rules even though CISF personnel on duty pointed out that Kalam was exempt from such checks.

An enquiry ordered into the matter established that the staff had wrongfully, under the direction of their security-in-charge, country director and station manager, carried out pre-embarkation body check on Kalam. A show cause notice was issued on July 9, to the airline’s station manager asking why action should not be taken against Continental under Section 11A of the Aircraft Act, 1934.  As no reply was forthcoming, a case was registered for willful violation of the ministry’s directions.

“The frisking or action per se was absolutely wrong. The former President and other such dignitaries are exempt from such frisking,” Patel told the Rajya Sabha while referring to rules that exempt certain VIPs from checks in airports.

He had to go through the entire security check because it is our policy to frisk everyone. This is the policy Continental Airlines follows over the world. There is no special rule for VIP or VVIP.

In fact, Kalam was very cooperative and underwent the entire process which happened over a month ago,” said the public relations officer of Continental Airlines.

yes you dumb people from USA…. it wasnt submission to ur rules… it was the modesty of the man…. who i have seen sitting down on the stage during a question hour session with Rajdeep Sardesai n Barkha Dutt because there was no chair available. N that time He was the Honourable President Of India…………

I must reiterate it is not about special privilege. I am not talking about a Person, an individual . What I am talking about is the former President of India

Do we see the word India around? Do we still need to be progressive enough to demand equality when India is involved? Can we really justify inactions in the name of security and threats. I agree with the security and threat concerns – but threat from whom? From Dr Kalam?

Somebody commented that It happens only in India. I agree. I don’t believe  you can put a former US president to same treatment anywhere in the world. Forget US. You wont be in a position to do the same thing almost anywhere in the world.

Have we forgotten the preamble of our own constitution where we solemnly resolved to constitute India in a sovereign nation? Are we sovereign?
